NEWS & UPDATES
March 25, 2006
Goody goody people! A news update! Sorry we took so long. We locked ourselves in a cellar and went on a massive crank binge for the last 6 months. Then, after no sleep for I don't know how long, we fell asleep and woke up in Seattle. Weird, huh? Perfectly normal. Things have been busy like a Bumble Bee Tuna representative. The trip to Washington was very fun and theraputic. We got to visit our friends in Austin, TX and Los Angeles, CA.  After the long ass pilgrimage across the country via automotive transportation, we took some R&R for a few weeks. Things are just about settling down. Most of us got day jobs, and we were able to locate a rehearsal space in a matter of days. The people here are very nice. It's a big change from the normal everyday scenery. Instead of swamps and humid butt weather, it's very cold and you're surrounded by forests and mountains. It looks like Mount Rainier is right in our backyard. No tax on food purchases is pretty neat too. Most importantly, drum roll please...we have our first show lined up. For those of you living in the Seattle area, we're playing at the LAB on Friday May 26. If you're wondering, the new CD carried on by voices in a song is finished. It's been finished for the last 4 months. We just need to get the artwork completed and pressed. So, I say patience and stay tuned for more updates. Today's broadcasting was brought to you in part by Huggies Diapers.

Hey you. We figured you hadn't heard from us in awhile. HI! Well, we've been super busy with alot of neat things. We're enjoying this little vacation from playing shows, and we're using our time to practice the new album and new material. Read all about it! Best of the Bay for the Weekly Planet is back. Congratulations to Trans- mission and the Dumbwaiters. The album is almost complete, and it's about damn time. If you visit us at - http://www.myspace.com/thehumanecho - you will be able to listen to four of the tracks. Oh, we're also trying out a new guitarist. We'll keep you posted on how things progress. P.S. We send our prayers out to the victims of the Hurricanes. Mother Earth is talking to us. It's time we listen.

This is technically our last show, unless Black Sabbath asks us if we want to open for them. So, try to make it out. Unfortunately, Harry Dash won't be able to play the show. However, the line-up is still amazing. We have The Beauvilles and Normendy (frmly The September Engagement) performing. Both bands are exceptionally gifted. It wouldn't surprise me to see them on the big screen one day. It's possible that Hand to Hand may jump on the bill, although this is not definite. The new record is coming along faster than I had imagined. All that's left are vocals and mixing. We think you'll enjoy it just as much, if not more, as Sonic Blanket. I think I speak for every one in the band when I say that the new album defines our true sound. I know I said we would be recording two albums this time around. However, we're not so sure we will have enough money to lay down the second. So, this might be the only one for the time being. If we do record anything else, it will only be an EP containing 3-4 songs. Stick around for more up dates. Qu-qu-e!

We played an awsome show with some really great bands at the Tamiami on July 14. Trans-mission and World Wide Zoo were amazing. For those of you that didn't make it, you missed an awsome show. It looks like the farewll show on Sept. 2 is going to moved to another venue and possibly another date.

The new t-shirts and stickers came in yesterday! They'll be available at these next upcoming shows. We hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July weekend.
P.S. I have retrieved the British flag wheel cover that was lost at our previous show. It's in safe hands now.

There's nothing big happening at the moment. We have a couple of shows lined up in July. We're looking forward to playing the Side Bar in Gainesville. The recording sessions are creeping up slowly but surely.  It's worse than craming for final exams. You want to make sure everything is neatly placed. August is going to be the highlight of the year. Jason and Lea Jo are tying the big knot Vegas style! Congrats guys!! Our last show before the big move will be on September 2 at the Boiler Room in Seminole. Make sure to check it out. Our close friends from Harry Dash will be playing with us. We might even make it a CD release party for our new album if it's ready by then. Stay tuned.

These last couple of weeks have been pretty rough. We had to stop our recording with Ryan (The Same) due to conflicting schedules. So, we'll commence with our recording once again toward the end of July with Mark Nicolich at Atomic Audio Recording. He's the fella who produced our first album. Mark rocks!! The good news is we've decided to lay down two albums instead of one. We're still not sure what the title of the second album will be.
Next Saturday, don't be surprised if you see us playing without a bassist at the State Theater show. The loveable Chris Music will be in S. Carolina attending his brother's wedding that day. Originally, we had planned to have another bassist take his place. However, that guy bailed out on us at the last minute. So, bassist Brian Schank (The
Same) will be taking his place if we're able to show him the material in time. Dance boy, dance!!

We started recording the next album last Saturday. Things are rolling smoothly. All the drum tracks and some guitar tracks are finished, and I'm going in this week to lay down the rest of the guitar. I'm estimating the cd will be ready for the public in about 1-2 months. We have some really good shows coming up, so check out the dates. One I'm particularly excited about is the Speaking Canaries show on May 21 at the New World Brewery. Former drummer of Don Caballero, Damon Che, is in this group, and I hear they rock.

Greetings everybody. We're back from tour. It kicked butt. The most memorable moments on the trip were Toni's -- Jason's Mom -- spicy cheese corn and the Detroit show. The Detroit scene is the most embracing scene I've ever encountered. We're back now and ready to go into the studio to squeeze out this next album. This album is going to blow 'Sonic Blanket'
out of the water. We hope you like it. We'll keep you posted on a release date. This Friday we have a FREE show at the Marshall Center located on the USF campus. For those of you planning on going, it's right next to the WBUL radio station. Hope to see you there.

Greetings fellow website visitors,

Thank you for dropping in and checking out our new webpage. We are very excited about this considering we’ve been without a webpage for ages. There are plenty of updates to fill you in on and the remainder of this year is one big field day. So, have a look around and enjoy.

First and foremost, we leave on our second tour on Thursday April 7. The tour will include 8 dates, and it will begin with a home show in Tampa. From there, the tour takes us to such beautiful places as Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio and South Carolina. For more info on tour dates and additional show dates, visit the show page.

We are proud to announce that in May, it is off to the studio once again to work on our second album. Helping us record and produce the album, we have Ryan Metcalf, guitarist/singer of the group The Same. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the group, their sound is right up our ally and straight through the mind of madness. The currently untitled album will include 8 tracks of brand-spanking-new music.

Last on the list - after much discussion between the four of us, we’ve decided it would be within our best interests to move on to greener pastures. Florida has been swell to us, but we think the time deserves a change, both in climate temperatures and friendly faces. Washington will be home station until it is declared otherwise.

A million thanks to all of those who are still reading this and give a poop. Please stay tuned for updates on the tour, the album and the move. We love you very much.
